What the heating standard asks for

The main living room needs a fixed heater that can warm it to at least 18°C. How big that heater has to be depends on the room. The Tenancy Services heating assessment tool works it out from the room size, windows and insulation. A heat pump is the usual way to meet it.

Sized for the room, not guessed

Dean measures the living room and checks the windows, ceiling and insulation. He works out the size with the Mitsubishi Electric heating calculator, then picks a heat pump with enough capacity for that room without oversizing it. Paperwork you can keep on file

- Written quote before any work starts

- After the install, a registered electrician issues the electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC), and it's emailed to you

- An invoice showing the model, the capacity and the room it's in

- 12 months workmanship from Get Pumped, plus 5 years on Mitsubishi Electric or 6 years on GREE from the maker

The certificate and invoice go to whoever you ask: the property manager, the owner, or both.

Tenants and access

Whatever suits you. You can book the time with the tenant yourself, or give Dean the go-ahead and he'll contact the tenant directly.

Already got a heat pump?

Dean can check whether an existing unit is big enough for the room, and service or repair it. If it's too small or on its way out, he'll quote a replacement.
